The 12 Project ~ Finishing Out the Year

Month 8 ~ August 2010 ~ Seven on the Mississippi ~ St. Louis, MO

Month 9 ~ September 2010 ~ Prescott National Forest ~ Prescott, AZ

Month 10 ~ October 2010 ~ Dancing Fountains ~ Las Vegas, NV

Month 11 ~ November 2010 ~ Thanksgiving Day Parade ~ St. Louis, MO

I think 10 out of 12 isn't bad...actually its awesome.  In 2009 we probably had maybe 3 family photos and in 2010 we had 10.  I am going to continue "The 12 Project" in 2011, striving to beat my record of 10 out of 12, have journaling with every photo and keep them current, so I'm not having to jog my memory to much.

DPP ~ 12/20/10

Jericho is obsessed with his baby doll lately...carrying it everywhere, feeding it in the highchair, putting it down to sleep in the cradle and rocking for hours (well maybe minutes).

DPP ~ 12/19/10

19 kids, 8 adults....oooops I guess we weren't paying enough attention.  Just kidding, this is at our friends the Hanwinkels, they have been coloring on their hallway walls for more than a year now.  They couldn't decide what to do with it, but it needed something, so they decided to use crayons until they came up with a better idea.

DPP ~ 12/15/10

Dodd & Lende kids (minus two) playing for the day.  I talked to my Grandpa this evening & told him that there were 11 children playing IN my house today.  He thought I must be exhausted.  Actually, it was quite relaxing, Holly & I were able to have hours of wonderful conversation...I know it sounds impossible, but its true.

DPP ~ 12/14/10

First time just the two of us since needed and oh so blissful.  A few errands, last two gifts purchased and dinner @ Moe's...all possible because of the wonderful Miss Denise and Pastor Lou.

DPP ~ 12/13/10

Jericho watching the brother play in the snow...he prefers to be on the inside.  The brothers will come over every few minutes and throw snow balls at the window, just to get a laugh out of Jer.  Precious.

DPP ~ 12/12/10

I couldn't just pick one photo of our first snow.  The children are in heaven.  The first photo is BEFORE Church.  Behind them is the road that I had to drive down :)  And after Church Nick became the official sled puller.

DPP ~ 12/11/10

18+ months and still going strong.  Funny thing, when I ask him if he wants milk, he shakes his head "no"...then gets a silly grin and lays back and starts nursing...tease.

Coda: I eat at a table, why can't Twilight?
Me: I don't know, he just can't.
Coda: Really Mom, 'cause he is.
Me: (cannot speak because I am laughing SO HARD)

DPP ~ 12/6/10

Quick trip to WalMart for hangers & vacuum belts.  On our way out my children rang the bell & sang Jingle Bells with this friendly lady.  Two little side notes: #1 I gave away over one hundred hangers when we went on the road, now I've had to buy them all again, oh how I love being able to hang more than just jackets; #2 The friendly Salvation Army lady asked my children to sing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" with her, to which Aidan replied, we don't know that song, but we know songs about Jesus, like "Silent Night", to which she replied, "how about Jingle Bells?"  I laughed.

DPP ~ 12/5/10

Meet Georgia.  (Don't mind the horrible photo, one day we'll get a better one.)  We went to the shelter to find a kitten for the children.  Nick fell in love with Georgia.  I told Nick if he could get the manager to cut us a deal I'd take both.  She said we could have her for free.  So off we went.  Nick is still in love.

DPP ~ 12/4/10

Jericho has been needing a hair cut for quite some time.  I was having such a hard time making the leap, knowing that the finished product would result in my baby looking SO much older.  He had some awesome dreads forming and for a moment we thought about just growing it out & letting it dread naturally.  But, since his hair on top is so much shorter he would have had a dread mullet, which I didn't think would look so hot.  Finally, Nick stuck him in his high chair, pulled out the clippers & the scissors and called me in to work my magic.  The dreads are tucked safely into a baggie for future oooooooo-ing & awwwwww-ing.

DPP ~ 12/3/10

It was about 31 degrees outside today and so we spent a lot of time indoors crafting fairies and snowflakes. (Thanks to the Pink & Green Mama for the fairy idea.)  Téadora HAD to dress up like a fairy if she was going to make could I disagree.  Can I just say I cannot believe this little girl is going to be FIVE in January and in the same breath I cannot believe she is only going to be five...such a crazy phenomenon.

DPP ~ 12/2/10

A boy & his kitten.  Dillon has been doing all things one handed for the past few days.  He goes to the bathroom, eats and even plays the keyboard one handed, so that he may keep a hold of his precious kitten Twilight in the other.  One morning I did have to spoon feed the almost four year old, because eating one handed was just not working out so well.

That's my Christmas tree, in my big bay window, in my warm home, with my yummy children (one missing)...I AM BLESSED.
